A teenage student at the St. Mary Magdalen School in Media told officers on Tuesday, May 17 that her bus driver took pictures up her skirt with his cell phone, Upper Providence Township police said.

The driver, who was assigned to bus number 302, has been identified as Bruce Stanley Garner, of Lansdowne, Police Chief David Montella said Friday, May 20.

Garner is also accused of having done this to at least two more teenage students, police said.

"At this time, there is no evidence that suggests the driver had physical contact with any of the teenage victims," Chief Montella said.

The charges were brought after an examination of his phone revealed enough evidence to warrant his arrest, according to the chief. He was arrested Friday, May 20 at his Lansdowne home.

He was also fired and prohibited from entering school grounds, the Marple Newtown School District said in a statement released earlier this week. Garner was not identified when the statement was issued.

"The district is fully cooperating with law enforcement's ongoing criminal investigation," Superintendent Tina Kane said.

Garner has been charged with 139 counts of invasion of privacy, 139 counts of unlawful contact with a minor, 139 counts of criminal use of communication facility, 139 counts of sexual abuse of children, endangering the welfare of children, and possessing instruments of crime.

Bail information was pending.
